Tamar Manasseh is a charismatic rabbi and community activist from the South Side of Chicago, whose goal is to create closer bonds between African Americans and Jews. With one foot firmly in each of these two communities, she strives to overcome decades of fear, misunderstanding, and lack of communication. Her life and work are the subject of two award-winning documentaries, THEY AIN’T READY FOR ME and RABBI ON THE BLOCK.
Brad Rothschild is a writer, director and producer based in New York City. His focus is telling compelling stories about the human condition. He is known for films including TREE MAN (2015); THEY AIN’T READY FOR ME (2020), winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature, Virginia Film Festival; and RABBI ON THE BLOCK (2023), winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary, San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. documentaries, THEY AIN’T READY FOR ME and RABBI ON THE BLOCK.
